제목 | The improvement on post-modification process of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) for cation exchange membrane using vacuum distillation step |
초록 | Over the past decades, the development of ion exchange membranes has attracted much research attention in terms of materials, preparation and applications, due to their academic and industrial values. In general, ion exchange membranes are composed of hydrophilic ion-functionalized groups anchored hydrophobic polymer matrix and movable counter-ions. Until now, most of the IEMs consist of polymeric backbones prepared by either post-modification of pre-existing polymers or direct polymerization of functionalized monomers. A simple post-modification process of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (PPO) using a vacuum distillation was conducted to prepare cation exchange membrane and the properties of cation exchange membrane were investigated. In this work, the results were analyzed to compare with sulfonated PPO from pre-existing post-modification process. |
