Synthesis and characterization of poly(styrene -b- methyl methacrylate) obtained from atom transfer radical polymerization |
초록 |
ωBrominated polystyrene (macroinitiator) was synthesized by chain-end fucntionalization of poly(styryl)lithium obtained from nbuthyllithium-initiated polymerization of styrene in the mixture of benzene and THF(95/5, %) at 25℃ for 24h. The chainend hydroxylation of poly(styryl)lithium was carried out using ethylene oxide at room temperature followed by adding 2bromopropionyl bromide or 2bromoisobutyryl bromide into the reactor via a breakseal technique leading to the formation of corresponding macroinitiator for ATRP. PS b PMMA was radical synthesized in toluene at 110 ℃ using The PS-based macroinitiator, Cu(Ι)Cl and Me6TREN via ATRP of methyl methacrylate. It is found that this is transformation reaction from anionic to ATRP was an efficient method to control the molecular weight of block copolymer. The results for these experiments will be presented in this study. |
