Synthesis and characterization of poly(styrene -b- N-vinyl imidazole) via transformation reaction from anionic to reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer radical |
초록 |
ωBrominated polystyrene (macroinitiator) was synthesized by chain-end fucntionalization of poly(styryl)lithium obtained from nbuthyllithium-initiated polymerization of styrene in the mixture of benzene and THF(95/5, %) at 25℃ for 24h. Chainend hydroxylation of poly(styryl)lithium was carried out using ethylene oxide at room temperature. ωBrominated PS was obtained from the reaction of ωhydroxylated PS with 2bromopropionyl bromide or 2bromoisobutyryl bromide via a breakseal technique. ωBrominated PS was converted to polymer carrying dithio ester group at the chain-end(RAFT agent) in THF at 35 ℃ for 24h. PS b PVIm was prepared via RAFT radical polymerization of N-vinylimidazole in DMF at 110 ℃ for 24 h. All the products were characterized by 1H-NMR and size exclusion chromatographic analysis. It was found that the transformation reaction from anionic to RAFT was an efficient method to control the molecular weight of block copolymer. |
