Ethanol fermentation from polysaccharides component in Laminaria japonica |

The metabolism of polysaccharide for the ethanol fermentation and the cell growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae KCCM1129 were investigated. The ethanol production and cell culture were carried out verious carbon source at 30℃ and 150 rpm used shaking incubator. The ethanol production can be only mannitol from heat pretreatment on the condition of 120℃ at 30 min used autoclave. But the optimal pretreatment and the substrate for the cell growth were HCl pretreatment and laminaran, respectively. It looked to be hydrolysis of laminaran that cell growth increase. The maximal ethanol yield of 0.098 g/g was obtained by Saccharomyces cerevisiae used Laminaria japonica. |
