제목 Chemical absorption of carbon dioxide with TEA into aqueous PEO solution
초록 The absorption rate of carbon dioxide was measured in aqueous polyethylene oxide(PEO) solution containing triethanolamine(TEA) in a flat-stirred vessel to investigate the effect of non-Newtonian rheological behavior of PEO on the rate of chemical absorption of CO2 at 25oC and 1 atm. Deborah number(De) , which presented the viscoelastic properties of the non-Newtonian liquid, was obtained from the relationship between the measured shear stress and primary normal stress difference against shear rate of the aqueous PEO solution. The volumetric liquid-side mass transfer coefficient (kLa) of carbon dioxide in the aqueous PEO solution, which obtained from the measured value of the absorption rate, was approached to that in water using De. Elastic property of PEO made the rate of chemical absorption of CO2 accelerate compared with Newtonian liquid based on same viscosity.
