This paper introduces recent R&D of touch panel for measurement of location and force when we contact with touch panel. After looking around the state of the art of touch input device from the viewpoint of patents and research, we introduce its importance of measurement of force and location and its application. Finally, we introduce our tactile sensor which can measure force or pressure distribution. Additionally, we mention its application such as robot, input device including touch panel based on tactile sensor. In a conclusion, we show the necessary requirements and problems in touch pane using tactile sensor to be of practical use in the near future. |
