Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) nanofibers have good chemical stability, mechanical properties, porosity, wide specific surface area and flexibility. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a green tea extract, is known to have various activities such as antioxidant activity and anticancer activity. However, due to the hydrophilic nature of EGCG, initial release is very rapid when introduced into particles and nanofibers. It is not suitable for using long time. Therefore, we aimed to control the initial release rate by introducing EGCG into hydrophobic aminopropyl isobutyl POSS (POSS). In this study, PVdF nanofibers containing various concentrations of POSS/EGCG (P/E) were prepared by electrospinning. We observed the form of nanofiber using SEM. FT-IR and XPS analyzes confirmed that P/E was introduced into the fibrous phase. From the EDX analysis, the dispersion was confirmed. MTT assay and SEM imaging showed that cell growth and IL-6 expression were suppressed by P/E addition. |
