In this report, we discuss the photophysical properties of two symmetrically substituted phenylene-vinylene D-A-D′-A-D type siblings. The positional impact of these cyano groups on the singlet one-photon absorption transition behavior was characterized through their absorption and fluorescence spectra in solution. Two-photon absorption cross-section was measured in two-photon induced fluorescence method. A theoretical ab initio and semiemperical quantum calculation was employed for investigation of their linear and nonlinear photophysical properties. |
