제목 | Polymer Membrane for Vanadium Flow Battery |
초록 | Redox flow batteries such as vanadium and Zn-Br are promising candidates to store large scale electrical energy when coupled with wind or solar powers. Many research groups have been efforts to develop low cost alternative membrane as well as to increase current capability of the stack. Vanadium redox flow batteries operate on the principle of V4+/V5+ and V3+/V2+ redox couples in the positive and negative cell, separated by an ion conducting membranes such as Nafion, Neosepta CMX, Selemion CMV. In redox flow batteries, many other cationic species are present. These species can also diffuse through the membrane, causing ion crossover. This crossover reduces the long-term stability and efficiency of the whole system. In this research, we have investigated the performance of various membrane types and the single cell data will be discussed in this presentation. |
