Development of Water-soluble Organic Chromophores with dendronized sulfonate anions |

Dendrimers are a new class of polymer materials. The structure of these materials presents a variety of potential applications. Water-soluble organic chromophore is important in water media applications and environmental friend process and often investigated by dendrimer derivation. The chromophores are functionalized for the water solubility with ionic groups such as -SO3- and -NH3+. Triazole coupling reaction is available to synthesize dendrons carrying both organic chromophore and water-solubilizing group. The solubility of the synthesized dendron chromophore increased with the number of sulfonate groups. We observed pH dependence enhancement of the solubility. The convenient synthesis and structural analysis of the dendronized chromophores will be presented along with optical characterization. |
