Effect of Acrylonitrile Content on Morphology and Physical Properties of TPU/SAN/MWCNT Nanocomposites |

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) with many useful properties has been used in many applications. Recently, multiwalled carbon nanotube(MWCNT) with good electrical, mechanical and thermal characteristics has been studied in various polymer nanocomposites. TPU/SAN/MWCNT nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing using twin screw extruder. TPUs and SANs used in this study were two types of TPUs (ether-, ester-) and three types of SANs (AN 19%, 26% 31%), respectively. The volume resistivities of TPU/SAN/MWCNT nanocomposites were measured. Tensile strength properties of TPU/SAN/MWCNT nanocomposites were evaluated using UTM. The results of TEM images and DSC thermograms exhibited phase behavior and thermal properties of TPU/SAN/MWCNT nanocomposites. |
