제목 The preparation of alginate microparticles by the novel ink-jet process and their electric-sensitive behavior
초록 The alginate microparticles were prepared by the novel ink-jet process. The alginate solution was fed through ink-jet nozzle at a controlled flow rate using a syringe pump. To break the jet into droplets, the nozzle was vibrated by a wave generator at a frequency tuned to match the flow rate and the desired drop size. The alginate droplets were introduced into 0.15M CaCl2 solution to form alginate microparticles. Alginate microparticles were prepared with various operating conditions to optimize ink-jet process. The resultant microparticles were characterized with particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electric field responsive behavior of alginate microparticles was measured by ITO electrodes cell with in-situ video monitoring. The volume change of microparticles depended on the applied electric potential.
