제목 Plasma Deposition of Acrylic Acid on Polycaprolactone Scaffolds for Binding Bone Morphogenic Protein-2
초록 In this study, surface modification of polycaprolactone scaffolds in order to bind bone morphogenic protein-2 using plasma deposition of acrylic acid monomer. The surface of PCL scaffolds was functionalized with carboxyl groups of plasma-polymerized acrylic acid (PPAA) thin film. Then, PCL scaffolds modified were incubated in rhBMP-2 solution. The water contact angle measurement presented that PPAA thin film had the moderate hydrophilic surface property. Carboxyl groups on PCL scaffolds were determined by toluidine blue-O assay. The change of chemical composition and morphology were characterized by ATR-FTIR, XPS and SEM analysis. Cell differentiation test revealed that rhBMP-2 immobilized PCL scaffolds increased alkaline phosphatase activity of MG-63 cells. Plasma surface modification for functionalization can be used a useful technique for binding bioactive molecules on biomedical materials.(The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (No. R13-2008-010-00000-0)).
