제목 The Synthesis of Ammonium Thiosulfate and Sulfur by Selective Oxidation of Hydrogen Sulfide over Vanadium Based Mixed Oxide Catalysts
초록 In this study, we examined the performance of V-Sb-O+Bi2O3 and Bi-V-Sb-O catalysts for the selective oxidation of H2S in the stream containing both of ammonia and water. Kinetic studies have been carried out to illustrate the reaction path. Solid products for this reaction were turned out to be whitish, harmless and useful ammonium sulfates and elemental sulfur by XRD and FT-IR analysis. Thus, whitish salt separated from elemental sulfur was confirmed almost as pure ammonium thiosulfate[ATS ; (NH4)2S2O3] through XRD, and FT-IR analysis.
All the mechanical mixture catalysts (V-Sb-O+Bi2O3) showed higher H2S conversion than the arithmetic average conversion. XRD analyses revealed that V-Sb-O+Bi2O3 (1:3) catalyst had mainly SbVO4 and Bi2O3. TPR/TPO and XPS experiments allowed us to conclude that the synergy effect was attributed to the migration of spillover oxygen between the phase boudaries. This spillover oxygen participates to the reoxidation of the reduced vanadium oxide.
