Inhibition effect of Harmful Algal Bloom using Chitosan Oligo Saccharide |

In this study, we investigated that chitosan have a potential ability in controlling harmful algal without cytotoxicity at fresh water organisms. Here, chitosan is proposed as new algicidal compounds in combating harmful algal bloom (HAB) cells. Plasma membrane of HAB was disrupted by chitosan and its intracellular components were analyzed by HPLC. Furthermore, chitosan showed that can be controlling HAB with minimal impact on fresh water ecology.
