제목 | Electrochemically fabricated Ni-based hydrogen catalysts for proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer |
초록 | Here we introduce Ni-based electrocatalysts for hydrogen production in acidic media: NiW and NiP. Both catalysts are electrochemically fabricated on porous substrate for practical application of a proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer. A hierarchical NiW/Cu nanowire catalyst is prepared by electrodeposition and its composition is controlled by adjusting the concentration of Ni and W. The amorphization and the enlarged active surface contribute to enhance the intrinsic activity of NiW. NiP catalyst with various compositions are fabricated by pulse electrodeposition, conferring acid-resistant properties to the hydrogen catalyst. The correlation of composition and catalytic activity of the catalysts are discussed and the hydrogen-evolving performances of the cells embedded with as-prepared catalysts are presented. |
