Isoindigo-based Conjugated Polymer Donor for Realizing High-performing Non-Fullerene Polymer Solar Cells |

In a typical bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells (PSCs) device, the heterojunction usually consists of polymer donor and small molecular acceptor. Isoindigo(ID) is conjugated organic moieties that has found utility as a useful backbone to construct organic semiconductors. Until now, several ID-based conjugated polymers have been reported in the design of polymer donor for efficient BHJ solar cell with the fullerene PC61/71BM acceptors; only few studies were conducted for fabricating on-fullerene PSCs. In this study, we attempted to apply the ID-based polymer to non-fullerene PSCs. The conjugated polymer was synthesized via Stille coupling reaction. And the optical and photo-physical properties of solution and film states were investigated by UV-visible absorption spectroscopy cyclic voltammetry for understanding their fundamental polymer properties. Eventually, the ID-based polymer was employed to fabricate PSCs and their performance will be demonstrated. |
