제목 | Characteristics of ammonia (NH3) adsorption / desorption on zeolite X |
초록 | Removing nitrogen from ammonium-rich wastewater plays an important role in reducing the contamination of water such as oxygen depletion and algae bloom. Ion-exchange process using natural and synthetic zeolites is one of ammonia nitrogen removal methods because zeolites possess high ion-exchange capability and selectivity. In this study, adsorption/desorption of ammonia were characterized on zeolite X at 30℃( 303K ) using NH3-TPD. It was found that the amount of adsorbed NH3 per sample was 5.53 mmol/g. The efficiency of adsorption/desorption on Zeolite X was around 89% respect to the value of the first measurement. This indicates that Zeolite X would be also considered as one of materials for ammonia nitrogen removal process. In addition to the removal process, this material can be utilized for ammonia-recovery system such as TPSA(thermal pressure swing adsorption). |
