Organic Solar Cells (OSCs) have attracted much attention due to their some advantages such as light weight, simple and low-cost fabricating process. Although power conversion efficiency (PCE) have exceeded 10%, the vulnerable device stability still remains a great challenge. Especially, the mechanical properties of OSCs play a important key role in making process and operation at real condition, but there has been lack of interest. In this work, we used double-cantilever beam (DCB) testing method to investigate differences of mechanical properties of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) between PCBM based solar cells (PCBM-PSCs). More importantly, significantly enhanced mechanical robustness was obtained from all-PSCs active layer compared than that of PCBM-PSCs with 6 and 20-fold improvements in fracture energy and elongation at break, because polymer acceptor are not only intrinsically more ductile than PCBM molecules but also are entangled with other polymers in active layer. |
