제목 | Excitation Energy Transfer for Increasing Photocurrent in Aqueous-Based Photovoltaic Devices |
초록 | We present that conjugated oligoelectrolytes (COEs) are useful photosensitizers to increase photocurrent generation in aqueous-based photovoltaic devices, an artificial photosynthetic device. In a hydrophobic medium, COEs have a high quantum yield over 90% because they do not interact with polar molecules via radiationless energy transfer. Thus, when COEs are co-assembled with an acceptor dyes whose absorption spectrum is well overlapped with the emission spectrum of COEs, an efficient energy transfer occurs via the Forster resonance scheme. A photoanode modified with COEs and Nile red in a vertical assembly shows enhanced photocurrent generation due to excitation energy transfer. Acknowledgments.
