제목 | Synthesis of Aluminum Nitride powders and fibers by Direct Nitridation and Carbothemal Reduction Nitridation |
초록 | Among ceramic materials, Aluminum nitride (AlN) has an excellent properties such as its wide band gap (6.2 eV), large exciton binding energy (0.6 eV), high thermal conductivity (320 W/mK), high electrical resistivity (1013 Ωcm), and small dielectric constant (8.8 at 1 MHz). Normally, AlN was used in the form of sintered body as a substrate, or polymer composites for thermal dissipating substrates. In the case of polymer composites, the loading contents of AlN within polymer matrix are very important to obtain high thermal conductivity. These physical properties make AlN especially attractive for potential application in UV LED-based white lighting, surface acoustic ware devices, chip carriers, and heat sinks. So, in this study, we presented various synthesis methods of AlN ceramic powders by direct nitridation of aluminum metal with catalyst at 1100oC for 2h in a horizontal tubular and AlN fibers by carbothermal reduction and nitridation of electrospun precursor fibers at 1600oC for 5 h in graphite furnace. The product was characterized by various methods including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Micro-Raman Spectroscopy, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microcopy (FE-SEM), Transmission Electron Microcopy (TEM). The product is composed of h-AlN and little alumina residues. The AlN fibers with hollow structure were observed. |
