The dimethicone has been applied to the medical and cosmetic fields in the form of thin film on the surface of skin due to its non-toxic, transparent and flexible properties. To supplement the mechanical property and the uptake of water vapour, chitosan nanofibers (CsNFs) were composited with the dimethicone. In the experimental, the chitosan nanofibers with the diameter of about 10 nm were prepared with a ball mill. The surface of CsNFs was modified to enhance the compatibility with the dimethicone composed of hydrogen dimethicone and vinyl dimethicone. The nanocomposited films were prepared with the various compositions of CsNF and dimethicone after crosslinking. In the results, the surface modified CsNFs were well dispersed in the film and the functional properties for an artificial skin were improved in comparison with the pristine dimethicone. |
