We demonstrate the effect of mixed solvent (DMF:GBL) in inverted-type perovskite/fullerene planar heterojunction hybrid solar cells based on methyl ammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) and [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). Use of the mixed solvent improves the surface coverage and morphology of the perovskite layer. This ideal film morphology improves exciton dissociation and charge transport properties, result in significant improvement in device efficiency. Mixing two solvents enhances the device performance in JSC from 7.35 mA cm-2 to 8.74 mA cm-2, FF from 0.73 to 0.76 and PCE from 5.02% to 6.16% compared to using DMF only under AM 1.5G illumination at 100 mW cm-2. Furthermore, this work reports a study into the first of the mixed solvent system for the optimization of perovskite film morphology in inverted-type perovskite/fullerene planar heterojunction solar cells. |
