We demonstrate high-performance inverted polymer solar cells by modifying indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode with organic surface modifier (OSM), which can be deposited in top of ITO via spin-coating (SC) or vapor-coating (VC) method. We compare the effect of ZnO and OSM on device performance and light absorption within whole device architecture. The OSM-treated devices using SC and VC exhibit higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.24% and 6.74%, respectively, compared to the devices with ZnO layer (PCE: 5.53%). Enhanced PCE of OSM-treated devices originates from increase in short-circuit current density, which is attributed to improved light absorption by removing metal oxide layer and excellent electron selectivity of OSM. |
