The effects of the copper iodide films morphology on the optoelectrical characteristics of organic photovoltaics |
초록 |
We studied on the functions of copper iodide (CuI) films as a hole transport layer (HTL) in organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs) based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) : phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT:PCBM), with a standard and an inverted structure. We investigated that the surface morphology of CuI films deposited by spin coating is facilely controlled by thermal annealing on hot plate and changing the deposition environment. The various morphologies obtained by this process have influence on the optoelectrical properties of the OPVs. It increases the absorption efficiency by scattering between the CuI and active layer. The active layer can harvest more photons and hence the absorption improvement contributes to higher short circuit current of OPVs with CuI films compared to that of the OPVs with other HTLs such as PEDOT:PSS and MoO3. These results show that the short circuit current can be enhanced by the simple modification of the morphology of CuI films. |
