Poly(lactide-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) has been generally used in tissue engineering applications because of its good biocompatibility and biodegradability materials. However, there degradable products can decrease the pH in the surrounding tissue, which can result in immune rejection. Porcine collagen protein(PCP) contains powerful bioactive molecules in a range of applications. We composed PLGA/PCP scaffold using 0, 10, 20, 40 and 80wt% of PCP. In this study, we performed compressive strength, SEM analysis and FT-IR for mechanical property of 3D PLGA/PCP scaffold. For biocompatibility test, NIH/3T3 mouse fibroblasts were cultured in the PLGA/PCP scaffold for 3days. Cell proliferation and viability were measured via MTT assay. RT-PCR was conducted to confirm mRNA expression of GAPDH, COX-2, TNF-α and IL-6 as inflammatory markers. This study showed that PCP scaffolds reduction of inflammatory reaction of PLGA.
