Stimuli-Driven Changes in Internal Structure of Polyelectrolyte Blend Multilayer Films Monitored by Neutron Reflectivity |
초록 |
Great efforts have been devoted to realize stimuli-responsive polymer thin films for many potential applications. Particularly, among thin film candidates, polyelectrolyte (PE) blend multilayer films prepared by layer-by-layer deposition have the outstanding advantages to engineer functional interfaces with enhanced properties. However, fundamental mechanism on the stimuli-driven changes in the internal structure of PE blend multilayer films has not been well established because of the difficulty in detecting the internal changes of the multilayer films. In this study, the swelling behavior of model blend films has been studied as a function of humidity and the pH-triggered release behavior of target chains from the model blend films has been systematically investigated using neutron reflectivity. The effect of blend ratio on the swelling and release behavior has also been studied. Such fundamental understanding would further expand the design capacity of functional polymer thin films. |
