제목 Hydrophobic membrane with non-ionic water vapor channel as an alternative cooling system
초록 Many researchers have suggested new cooling systems to replace current heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system. Membrane heat pump system is an emerging technology capable of outperforming current HVAC systems in respect of low energy efficiency and use of environmentally harmful refrigerants because membrane can extract water vapor from the air without release of latent heat. But, several hurdles like low durability and easy contamination need to be solved for commercial deployment. We designed hydrophobic membrane with non-ionic water vapor nano-channel. Nano-channel is created by cluster formation of surface modified hydrophilic filler by dispersibility controlling. Its structure and properties are characterized by SEM, water-vapor permeability analysis, and gas permeation test.
