Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted considerable attention as next generation solar cell due to low manufacturing cost and high-power conversion efficiencies. A conversion efficiency of 11% has been achieved in DSSCs with ruthenium(Ⅱ) dye (N719 dye) as photosensitizer. Compared with ruthenium complex, organic sensitizer dyes generally have larger molar extinction coefficients and economical advantage. In this study, we are using Pt ion sputtering as counter electrode to improve performance of synthesized metal-free organic dyes containing phenothiazine. This counter electrode is applicated to Dye-sensitized Solar Cell due to characterization of their photo-voltaic performance. |
