A dynamic model for natural circulating drum-type boiler has been developed to simulate the complicated dynamic behaviors of the drum, down-comer, and riser components under various operating conditions. The model is composed of a system fluid dynamics, a riser thermal dynamics and a wall thermal stress sub-model. The simulation for various load changes or start-up scenarios of drum-type boiler can be carried out based on the proposed model. Results of the simulation provide insight into the dynamic interactions of system such as the drum pressure, total water volume, steam quality, riser’s temperature, and thermal stress of riser’s wall component. This model simulation is essential to check operational scenarios before actual plant implementation. Also it can be a basis for control strategy of drum water level and optimization of drum-boiler startup procedures. |
