제목 Synthesis, Characterization, Stimuli-Sensitive and Metal Binding Properties of Novel Betaine-Type Polyampholytes
초록 Polyampholytes as a simple model for proteins and nucleic acids constantly attract the attention of researchers due to the presence of both acidic and basic groups in the macromolecular chains. A series of novel hydrophobically and hydrophilically modified monomers from acetoacetic ester and various alkylamines were synthesized. Novel water-soluble and water-swelling betaine-type polyampholytes were obtained via Michael addition reaction followed by radical copolymerization with various сomonomers. The kinetics and mechanisms of the copolymerization of the betaine-type monomers was evaluated. The linear polyampholytes were be characterized by potentiometric titration, viscosimetry, FTIR, NMR, SEM, TGA, DSC, and GPC. The stimuli-sensitive properties of the amphoteric gels was studied in dependence of pH, ionic strength, water-organic solvent mixtures and as a function of the DC electric field. The ability of the polymers to form complexes with metal ions was also studied.
