Using the self-consistent field theory, the order-disorder transition values Nχodt are calculated for the (A-g-A)-b-(B-g-B) comblike copolymers with different lengths of the backbone and grafted chains, or with different chain-length-ratio between the A and B grafted chains. A phase diagram is made for such copolymers and compared with that for simple AB diblock copolymers. It is shown that increasing the fractions of the grafted chains suppresses microphase separation. Contrarily, increasing the backbone fraction strengthens ordering. The domain spacing decreases with the chain-length-ratio between the graft and the backbone chains. It also decreases with the grafting density, at the same Nχ value or at the Nχodt values for respective comb copolymers. In addition, the domain spacing increases linearly with the lengths of backbone for copolymers with the same sized branches. It also increases with the length of the grafted chains, for comb copolymers with the same backbone. |
