Microalgae has been focused in many researches in the world. Howerver, the cultivation of microlagae for biodiesel production at industrial scale required substantial amount of mineral compounds, typically nitrogen as nitrate, ammonia... In fact, the use of mineral compounds implies the usage of energy and fossil fuels resulting to unstainable practise in long term. On the other hand, organic fertilizer which is derived from food waste or biomass contains high values of organic nutrients which make it a promising source can support microalgae growth. Hence in this study, PAL-1 organic fertilizer was prepared for microalga cultivation. Chlorella Vulgaris, a fresh microalgae was choosen to investigate, and its’ growth was greatly promoted with PAL-1. C.Vulgaris was obtained the maximum biomass concentration (2.16-2.26 g/L), lipid content (48-50%), a very fast comsumption of nitrate and stability in pH under the mixotrophic conditon which including supplement of 2% carbon dioxide and 24h of continuos illumination. Besides, the slower growth was observed under phototrophic condition with the aeration of only the air. |
