Inorganic/Organic composites are attractive materials by insertion of inorganic particles into polymeric matrices. In this study, we demonstrated that core/shell type inorganic/organic nanocomposites were produced by dispersion polymerization in scCO2. The dispersion polymerizations of methyl methacrylate were performed in the presence of well dispersed surface modified inorganic nanoparticles (SiO2). The inorganic particles were previously treated with 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate and poly(oligo(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate(Mn=1100)-co-heptafluorobutyl methacrylate) was used as a stabilizer for the polymerization. The composites were confirmed by XPS, FT-IR, TEM, SEM and TGA. The effect of the stabilizer concentration and inorganic/monomer ratio on the polymerization was also investigated. |
