Substitued siloxane polymers containing polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and polyethylene oxide units, CH3(OCH2CH2)mOH, in the side groups were synthesized for the applications in polymer electrolytes. These polymers were prepared by hydrosilylation reactions of poly(ethylhydrosiloxane) with different amounts of POSS and polyethylene oxide(m = 3, 8, 12) units. These new polymers having POSS units showed improved mechanical, thermal properties and dimensional stabilities as polymer electrolytes. The physical and electrochemical properties of these new polymers were characterized using TGA, DSC and impedance measurements. |
