To overcome the disadvantages of bisphenol A glycerolate methacrylate (Bis-GMA), i.e., its high viscosity cause by hydrogen bonding between hydroxyl groups, various Bis-GMA derivatives as a base resin were used to prepare polymeric dental restorative composites (PDRC). Radio-opaque barium silicate was used as a filler for the preparation of PDRC. Also, tiethyleneglycol dimethacrylate, camphorquinoner, and ethyl-4-dimethylamino benzoate were adopted as diluent of base resin, photo-initiator, and photo-accelerator, individually. More detailed effect of molecular structure of Bis-GMA analoques on the properties of PDRC will be reported and discussed. |
