A dithienosilole/thiophene-based polymer was successfully synthesized. The π-conjugated polymer was characterized, using various analytical techniques including differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltametry, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy. Based on the absorption spectrum and cyclic voltammogram data, the energy levels of HOMO and LUMO of the polymer were estimated. Bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells were fabricated using the synthesized polymer and PCBM as electron-donor and electron-acceptor materials, respectively. All of the experimental results will be presented in detail. |
