In this work, activated carbon nanofibers (ACNFs) were successfully obtained impregnating MgO with polyacrylonitrile (PAN) followed by KOH activation at different KOH/CNFs ratios. The effects of KOH activation have been studied on electrospun PAN in order to investigate the porosity of CNFs. The effects of KOH/CNFs ratio on the textural properties of ACNFs were investigated by N2 full isotherms and SEM. The CO2 adsorption capacity was measured by CO2 isothermal adsorption at 298 K and 1 bar. From the results, it was found that the KOH/CNFs ratio had a major influence on CO2 adsorption capacities and textural properties of ACNFs. The specific surface area, total pore volume, and mesopore volume of ACNFs increased with increasing the KOH/CNFs ratio. |
