Recently, magnetic silica-hydrogel polymer nanocomposites have attracted a great deal of attention in biomedical fields because of their potential application to controlled drug delivery, bio-imaging, and magnetic separation. The core-shell magnetic nanoparticles covered with silica shell layer were synthesized by the sol-gel reaction of citrate-stabilized magnetites with silicon alkoxide. The magnetic silica nanoparticles were encapsulated by PNIPAM-co-AAc hydrogel shell. These nanospheres were functionalized by 1,8-diaminooctane, followed by the further conjugation gold nanoparticles. |
