Nanotubes are of great interest due to their high surface to volume ratios and size dependent properties. Several recent studies have indicated that titania nanotubes have improved properties compared to any other form of titania for application in photocatalysis, sensing, photoelectrolysis and photovoltaics. Titania nanotubes and nanotube arrays have been produced by various methods. In the work the TiO2 nanotube arrays were made by anodization in acid at 20V and 20℃ for 30 min. The mechanical properties of TiO2 nanotubes were characterized using scratch test. The morpholpgy of scratched TiO2 nanotubes was observed using optical micrograph and SEM, andEDS analysiswas conducted to determine a critical load for the exposure of the substrate. |
