Physical Properties of EPDM/Bottom ash/Fly ash Composites |

Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) is widely used for various applications due to its thermal stability and insulating properties. Bottom ash and fly ash are generated in thermoelectric power plant. Most of fly ash is recycled as building materials such as ready-mixed admixture, cement raw material. Bottom ash is hardly recycled. In this study, we integrated bottom ash and fly ash to EPDM to conduct a test on physical properties and morphologies. EPDM/bottom ash/fly ash composites were prepared by using a two roll-mill. The processing materials used in this study were antioxidant, processing oil, cross-linking co-agent and softening agent. Morphology and physical properties of EPDM/ash composites were examined by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), universal testing machine (UTM) and Rheometer. |
