Spirulina is a microalgae which is used for food and pharmaceutical addictive with no health risk. It has been approved by FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). Spirulina cell mass compounds have therapeutic functions such as anti-inflammatory, anti-metastasis and blood cholesterol reduction. Electrospinning is a popular technique for making fibrous nanofibers which is high Surface-area-to-volume ratio, porous, and low cost to manufacturing materials. We fabricated Poly ethylene oxide (PEO) nanofiber containing Spirulina by electrospinning process and tested the fibers as an extracellular matrix materials for cell culture. |
