제목 Thin Films of PS-b-PtBA Diblock Copolymers for Nanotemplate Applications
초록 There has been intensive research on the fabrication of diblock copolymer thin films having cylindrical nanodomains normal to the substrate to utilize them for potential applications in membranes, nanotemplates, and nanolithography. For nanotemplate applications, we fabricated thin film of polystyrene-b-poly(t-butyl acrylate) (PS-b-PtBA, Mw 76.4kg/mol-31.6kg/mol, PDI 1.04) diblock copolymers anionically synthesized. Cylindrical PtBA nanodomains of the diblock copolymer were oriented normal to the substrate by solvent treatment. Then, they were hydrolyzed to the poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) nanodomains, or removed by UV irradiation and subsequent washing. The hydrolysis resulted in thin films with carboxylic acid-functionalized nanopores due to removal of t-butyl groups of the PtBA block. This film can be effectively used as a nanotemplate to produce nanostructures by loading inorganic materials to carboxylic acid functionality. In contrast, UV irradiation onto the thin film generated nanopores without any functional groups on the wall due to elimination of PtBA nanodomains. This film can be also used as a nanotemplate for metal deposition to fabricate inorganic nanostructures.
