Organic binders with high adhesion property are widely used for the foundry industry. They have negative effects on gas defect of casting, fine dust, and air pollution when molten metal has injected mold. It is required to study eco-friendly inorganic binders. In our study, it was synthesized that the ceramic binder had outstanding heat resistance and bonding strength. We observed fluidity and mold strength to withstand high temperature thermal shock by the addition of refractories such as Al2O3, SiO2, and aluminosilicate, which had superior heat resistance and wear resistance. The ceramic binder and sand were mixed, then the mixture was filled in molding machine. The specimens were formed by shooting and blowing hot air, then they were measured flexure strength at room temperature. Consequently, the fluidity and mold strength values after addition of SiO2 could be affirmed to be improved as compared with Al2O3 and aluminosilicate. |
