Functional polyolefin with block and graft structures are the most desirable material. Prior to the experiment, Poly(ethylene-ter-hexene-ter-divinylbenzene) (EHV) terpolymers containing divinylbenzene units in chain, which were perpared by a metallocene copolymerization using rac-Et(Ind)2ZrCl2/MAO catalyst system. In this investigation, we synthesized EHV-g-(P(t-BS)-b-PI) graft copolymer with tert-butylstyrene (P(t-BS)) hard segment and block copolymer with polyisoprene (PI) soft segment side chains using anionic graft-from polymerization involving DVB pendant. Futhermore, the resulted polyolefin was functionalized via thiol-ene click reaction using thioglycolic acid as the functional agent. The result indicated that this methodolodgy a new well-defined functionalized graft-type polyolefin-based TPE with high Tg hard block. |
