Tungsten oxide has been used in electrochromic devices due to wide band gap with photoconductive behavior. They, however, have relatively high electrical resistivity and long bleach-coloration transition. One-dimensional nanostructures have been known to show the high surface area and the outstanding electronic properties. Therefore, improving properties of tungsten oxide can be expected with nanostructures such as nanoparticles, nanorods, and nanotubes. In this work, various sizes of tungsten oxide nanorod were fabricated by porous alumina template. Characterization of tungsten oxide nanorods using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectrum were carried out. Besides, the electrochromic performances of films based on nanorods were compared with those of thin-films. |
