Efficiency improvement ofpolymer photovoltaic cells by incorporation of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) used as an interlayer between the poly-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene:polysyrenesulfonate and poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):[6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) active layers, was studied. CuPc interlayer is deposited by thermal evaporation onto the buffer layer, and the active layer is subsequently deposited by spin-coating. The incorporation of CuPc interlayer enhanced the light harvesting and improved the power conversion efficiency of polymer photovoltaic cells. |
