제목 Strategy for Stabilization of Magnetite (Fe3O4) Nanoparticles Using Polymeric Surfactants
초록 Magnetite nanoparticles (MNP) of 10-20nm in diameter were synthesized by controlled chemical co-precipitation method using precursors of FeCl3•6H2O and FeCl2•4H2O in alkaline medium at room temperature. In the process, polymeric surfactants such as polyethylene glycols (PEGs) and PEG-branched polymers were used as a surfactant to obtain the biocompatibility and stability of MNPs. Well-dispersed MNPs were further modified with biomolecules and the robust bonding between the particles and biomolecules was confirmed with harsh ultrasonication followed by UV-visible spectroscopic measurement. The surface of MNPs coated with surfactants was characterized by atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.
