제목 Cyclic nitroxyl free radical system as new redox couple in DSSCs
초록 We studied a new redox couple system with free-iodide for DSSCs because iodide/triiodide system widely used as a redox couple in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) has defects such as the corrosion of electrode materials as well as the loss of energy between its redox potential and that of the conventional sensitizers. To solve these defects, Grtzel et al. lately reported a possibility of new redox mediator in DSSCs using a stable organic molecular radical such as 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidyloxy radical. We studied seven-different stable cyclic nitroxyl free radical materials which were employed as a new redox couple for DSSCs. The change of the conversion efficiency in different redox couple in DSSC was investigated under AM 1.5 illuminations with the mask of 0.25 cm2. We observed the diffusion coefficient and the charge transport resistance of the radical materials through cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
