Water-Soluble Polymer Dielectric toward High Performance Organic Thin-Film Transistors. |

In this paper, we have introduced air-stable, water-soluble poly(acrylic acid) as a polymer dielectric material for OTFTs. A poly(acrylic acid) dielectric layer in OTFTs showed good stability in ambient air conditions by using a cross-linker. The device we fabricated with a PAA dielectric layer was found to have mobility of 0.526 cm2/Vs, a threshold voltage of -8.4 V, and an on/off ratio of 9.2x105 at -40 V. Moreover, the performance of an OTFT using cross-linked PAA is superior to that of other commonly used polymer dielectric materials. In expecially, because PAA is compatible with nanoparticles in aqueous solution, we applicated an OTFT using a dielectric layer with mixture cross-linked PAA and nanoparticles having high dielectric constant. This OTFT could be operated succesfully and stably at low voltage bias (source-drain bias, Vd=-5 V). |
